Bici Basics/Conceptos básicos de bici

Become more self-sufficient with knowledge of basic maintenance, also ride with more comfort and efficiency with tips for fitting a bicycle. Students who complete the workshop will gain insights into the importance of helmet use when riding a bicycle, they will also get their very own fitted helmet and LED bike lights. Become better equipped to continue your two-wheeled travels more comfortably, safely, and legally.

To complete this class, you must attend BOTH sessions.

***Ages 13 years and older, 10 person max capacity***

Part 1: Virtual class provides students with knowledge on safety tips while riding, importance of being visible on the road, and some of the rules of the road to follow. Date: Friday May 27th, 3:30pm-5:30pm via ZOOM.

Part 2: In-Person. Practice your new skills on a bike! Includes utilizing your ABC Quick Check before riding, practicing how to Start and Stop while riding, signaling and scanning, and taking a group ride to use these skills on the road. Saturday May 28th, 9am-12pm. @Santa Ana Regional Transportation Center 1000 E Santa Ana Blvd, Santa Ana, CA 92701

 

**Santa Ana Active Streets is contracted by the City’s Public Works Traffic Engineering Division to host education and interactive events around traffic safety.  Funding for this program is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration

Parte 1: Clase Virtual provee conocimiento sobre consejos de seguridad mientras monta su bici, la importancia de ser visible en su bici, y unas reglas de calla que tiene que obedecer para estar seguro.
Viernes 27 de mayo de 3:30pm-5:30pm  en ZOOM.

Parte 2: En persona practique sus nuevas habilidades en su bicicleta. Incluye cómo chequear su bici usando un chequeo de ABC antes de montar, aprender como empezar y parar apropiadamente en su bici, señalar y escanear, y terminar con un paseo de bici en un grupo para utilizar estas nuevas habilidades en la calle.
